BIKE HIRE

Merida Scultura 6000 or the new 7000 (Di2) carbon road bikes equipped with Shimano Ultegra 11 speed groupsets, can be hired from 20 euros per day. They are supplied by a local bike hire company based in the Costa Blanca area, who ensure they are maintained in an excellent condition.

If you wish to take advantage of this facility please complete the option on the ‘Booking Enquiry’ form with your dates and saddle height. Once availability is confirmed, a bike measurement form will then be sent by email to complete, so the bike is set up correctly for you. You will need to bring your own pedals. The bikes will be delivered direct to your accommodation and payment will be required in Euros on collection. There is an additional 30 euro damage insurance fee per hire, which removes the need to leave a large deposit.

You can hire a bike through us even if you do not book one of our hotel options.  Please contact us with your required dates saddle height measurement and preferred model.

FLIGHTS
Regular daily flights to Alicante are available from most UK airports and can be booked via Jet2, BA, Easyjet and Ryanair.  If you require any assistance to find suitable flights, just ask and we can help to source some possible options for you to book. 

AIRPORT TRANSFERS
Return transfers from Alicante airport directly to the hotels can be booked via Beniconnect.  They offer a shuttle service to Calpe (for Diamante Hotel) starting from 40€ per person return and to La Xara (for Marriott La Sella Golf) from 56€ per person return.  They also offer very reasonable private transfers depending on the number of people travelling.  Bike boxes are an extra €10 each way on either the shuttle or private services.  For an exact price just complete your details on their easy-to-use website.

CAR HIRE
You can pre-book a hire vehicle for collection at the airport on arrival. Zest Car Rental offer some great prices which include a ‘Free Additional Driver’ and ‘Zero Excess’. Other car hire companies are available.  Please note that the person paying for the hire must be the main (named) driver on the car hire booking and have a credit card.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
We strongly recommend you purchase your travel insurance once your booking has been confirmed, not only to cover you while you are away, but also for the many unforeseen eventualities that could lead you to having to cancel your holiday before your departure, eg. illness, accident or redundancy. It is also advisable you carry an European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).  See Terms & Conditions for more details.

EQUIPMENT
We would recommend bringing two spare inner tubes and a working pump with you and ensure your bicycle is in full working order to avoid any interruption to your riding.

Continental tyres, inner tubes, Co2 inflators, tubeless tyre sealant, chains, brake pads, drink bottles (bidons) and other spares will be available to purchase in our Musette shop, should you need any replacements.

It is a legal requirement in Spain to wear a helmet when riding.

CLOTHING

Although most days it will be warm enough to wear a short sleeved jersey, base layers and shorts, there maybe cooler days so remember to pack a gilet, arm and leg warmers as well as a cape especially for descending.  Don’t forget your shoes!
